Condition: Late Victorian style case has a very masculine look, and the arched dial retains brightly gilded spandrels and 3 subsidiary dials in the arch for Chime/Silent, F/S, and Chime on 8 Bells / Chime on 4 Bells. [Whittington or Westminster]. Robust and heavy movement then strikes the hours on a deep toned flat wire gong. Chimes and ticks; hammers need some adjusting; canon pinion is loose, perhaps needs new spring or more washers under pin. A heavy and well made bell chimer. Ht 23.7" [60.5cm]
