22 October 2024
Condition: the case has been refinished and some repairs to the cross banding and inlay. Retains original brass handle, cast paw feet with toe nails and rear door latch. The painted, arched dial has its original surface, the numerals and signature strengthened long ago, some minor touch up to white areas. The floral display in the arch has been repainted. The interesting movement has chamfered top corners and very heavy baluster pillars, and could well have been made by an artisan trained in England. Ht 17" [44cm]
