C.1860, Ormolu and white marble mantel clock, figures of an infant holding hands with a putti, Cupid, come to console him, both looking loving and pensive at the same time, the clock with a superior cobalt blue dial with gold stars and white numeral shields with black Roman numerals. Condition: this clock has stood for some time without a dome and the marble has dirt and discoloration in the crevices, and the ormolu trim on the base has lost its gilding and been painted gold. The original fire gilding on the two infants is still excellent. Bell strike movement with Marti award medallion, and the case with a bronze label impressed with : J.V. and Fils, Paris.
