Condition: the mahogany veneered case apparently stood in an attic for a time and there are some splits in both the veneer and underlying carcass, and areas where the veneer has been re-glued (none is missing), and the case has been refinished. The bonnet over the dial has a large fan inlay; 4-corners around the dial have leaves and in the center below the dial, flowers in an urn. The large and robust movement is very well made, and the seconds arbor and hand is driven by an auxiliary 'scape pinion with reduction to turn hand once per minute (necessary with a half seconds pendulum). The "astro" layout dial is original, but with some scrapes and wear, and has been over-coated with lacquer; in the hour circle is the original inscription REGULATOR. Ht 25.5" [65cm]
