Condition: the background on the "Hull" tablets is flaking and will need attention (you need to act soon). We have looked this clock over from stem to stern, and it is simply not of American manufacture. The case is "thinner" front to back than we expect here, the lead weight is slim front to back, the pulley is English, pendulum is English, the crank is English, and the high quality movement has typical English spoke pattern and high quality, machined hold downs to restrain the movement. The throat piece is only a quarter inch thick, with the thinnest tablet and the tiniest round strips to hold it in place. Note also uncommon porcelain dial, of European origin. The brass eagle is the only item we see of US origin. Perhaps the maker was British, working in the U.S. Certainly of interest to a banjo collector who wants something "different". Ht 34" [87cm]
