Condition: Mahogany and mahogany veneered case that seems to have been made from old parts is in good condition. The two beveled doors are not original to the case and are attached with the wrong style hinges. The turned wood bezel is probably a replacement has there is evidence that it may have had a brass bezel originally. The period dial has been repainted has an extra hole added to fit the movement and may not be original to the case. The hands, finial, tablets and side arms are not original. The movement that is not original to this case appears to be an example that was made by J. N. Dunning of Burlington, VT. A view of this movement can be found on page 108 of Paul Foley's book: Willard's Patent Time Pieces. Height 33 inches [83.8 cm]
