Condition: the skirt and feet have been improperly replaced with wrong profile, however a good cabinet maker can restore this. The spun brass finials are modern, Seth Thomas type, and Terry type replacements are available. We were skeptical of the dial at first, however Whiting did not enter the scroll game until after 1830 and minute rings were already moving to the outside of the chapter ring. There are no extra holes in the dial and it lines up with the support board and original Whiting movement so we are calling it original. It is certainly the most colorful scroll dial we have seen. Original rear tin cover and roller covers as well. Best parts are the fabulous original scrolls, never broken. Well worth restoring properly. Height 32 inches [81cm]
