Condition: Refinished mahogany veneered case in good condition with some minor veneer loss and repairs. Original tablet is now clear, but looks to have been a frosted glass originally. Original wooden dial is in ok condition with paint loss and piece missing on the upper left corner. Hands are of the proper type, but are modern. Elisha Welch founded this firm in 1850 to supply Bristol firms with brass, and they sold a small number of clocks with their own label (probably having received finished clocks in trade for their brass). Label half gone but legible. Height 26 inches [66 cm]
