C.1840, Birge, Mallory and Co., 8-day time/strike triple decker shelf clock, as-found. Condition: Mahogany veneered case in fair condition, with restorations. There is some veneer loss on the base. Feet and molding on the top and bottom door have been replaced, and the doors are on backwards, should be hinged on the right. Original painted dial with an original sliding mirror is pretty good for its age. Hands are replacements. Columns now gold painted; tablets replaced. Strap brass movement is signed. Label with losses is legible. Round iron weights are not original, but will run the clock. Height 38.5 inches [97.79 cm]
