Condition: Refinished case is in nice condition with a couple of veneer chips and some very minor losses. Molding surrounding the mirror is now gold painted. Mirror is modern. Top glass is a modern replacement. Kirk's patent movement is a balance wheel double escape wheel iron backplate type with a very unusual strike system that runs off the time spring. Dial is modern. Hour hand is original, while the minute is a proper replacement. Movement is marked: C. Kirk's Patent, New Haven, A.D. 1847. Height 35.75 inches [90.80 cm]
