Condition: movement currently running briskly, was cleaned by someone unsure of how to hold on the barrel cover, and he gave it a bit of a ball peen massage around the edge. The unusual platform seems to be a Howard version of the Boston Clock lever design [not identical, but similar]. The rear plate clearly signed with Howard imprint, and the number 12 to the left, repeated on the barrel cock. This is an earlier and more refined movement than in previous 2 lots. The painted dial shows around a hundred years of wear, appears to have been strengthened at some time. In 30 years of selling, we have not seen this model before. Diameter 6" [15cm]
