C.1880, French, YEAR CLOCK, the unusual movement with 5 large spring barrels, all wound from a single central arbor above 6pm, the dial with brocot escapement on the dial. Condition: overall very good condition. The porcelain dial is virtually perfect, moon hands original; glass crystal has some scratches. Nice Ellicott style compensating pendulum, has been adapted to fit. The ebonized wood case is supported on 4 brass pillars, and the movement contained within a wooden drum, with two large beveled glass windows at top to show off the movement. Ticks with surprising gusto. Height 16.3 inches [41cm]
