C.1855, French, Japy for Rollin a'Paris, ormolu figural clock with accent panels, children playing with their pet birds. Condition: generally good condition, there are some minuses. The dial with cobalt blue numerals has a poor repair at the strike winding hole. There are spots where the gilding has worn off here and there, and are now oxidized. The well made bell strike movement is signed Rollin. The panels with cherubs on either side of the dial are excellent. The subject matter, children is always popular. Note the bird cage is near the boys right foot and one bird is on the ground, the other bird in the boys left hand. His sister looks on, a bunch of flowers in her right hand. Height 13 inches [33cm]
