C.1840, Dutch, Staartklok, with Dutch quarter striking 1-day, weight, with alarm, rolling moon and date aperture, plus uncommon carved case. Condition: this clock has been nicely cleaned and restored with new chains and alarm weights. It has Dutch striking, with the following sequence for four o'clock on = 4 deep bell tones for the hour, one deep bell tone for 4:15, then four high bell tones for half past, then one deep bell tone for 3/4 past and finally five deep bell tones for five o'clock. Sometimes strikes on both bells and could use adjusting, however the movement has been cleaned and is running briskly. Note the carved dolphins at bottom of case plus on each sides.
