22 October 2024
Condition: this clock has been tastefully restored, some gilding redone on the throat and carefully rubbed to give it an aged look; both tablets are recent, painted in the proper style. The well made movement is most similar to those made by Joshua Seward, reviewed by Paul Foley in his book on Patent Timepieces, see page 66, and note the split screw which projects from the rear of the case forward, through the back plate, where it receives a pin to hold the movement in place. The well made movement is original to the case, and has been cleaned and re-cabled. Height 40 inches [101cm]
