C.1880, Welch, Spring and Co., Bristol, Conn, "Regulator Calendar No. 1" in rosewood, 8-day, 2-wt time and calendar.
Condition: generally excellent original condition, exceptions noted. The original finish has been heavily rubbed and waxed. The upper bezel has half dozen chips around the outer bezel and another half dozen where the chip has been glued back in. As you can see in the foto, these are not easily visible. The dials are in exceptional original condition. The hands and weights are original. The lower glass in an attractive rendition on the original glass. Pend bob with dent. Also includes the door key for operating the 2 door, locks intact. For reference, see Ly's book titled Calendar Clocks, page 340, and also his book on Welch, page 70. Note we sold the cousin to this in the last auction, lot 454, somewhat less condition, for bargain price of $2500+. Height 53 inches
