Condition: the case has original finish, but is rubbed down nearly to the wood; original dial has some flakes and a deteriorating spot near numeral 2 where someone had put scotch tape to hold some flakes on. Heavy duty ST No. 86 double spring movement seems to run fine. Stained but still excellent label on rear of clock. Pendulum also original. For reference, see Tran Ly's book on Seth Thomas, 3rd Edition, page 351. The Arcade was introduced in 1913 as a cheaper alternative to the Gallery model, which was sold from 1884 onwards, and expensive to produce. Interestingly the Arcade was offered in larger dial sizes than any other inside use Seth Thomas clock 18, 24, 30 and 36 inches. We have seen a 36 inch dial for sale recently for $10,000 so folks are not bashful to charge for the large size. Ht of this clock 24"
