C.1890, French, Black Slate Figural clock, 8-day time and bell strike, with a patinated spelter statue of a seated and bare foot centurion with a container of papyrus records to his left. Condition: overall very good original condition, some polish residue in around the creases. Dana had this clock setting in his attic, having moved it there to make more space in lower floors for more clocks. Movement was cleaned some time ago, and is complete and sound. Porcelain dial is perfect and hands are original. Slate has only minor roughness along bottom edge. Height 24 inches
