Condition: except for chips in the beveled glass dial at each attaching point, and some surface scratches on the dial, this clock is in excellent original condition and running order. Over the years, the French developed several eye deceiving ways to present and advance the hands of a clock, and although this is logical when you see the movement, you are drawn first to the size of the clock and are sure the movement must be in the base. Small male key used to wind mov't. Note the gilt hands are balanced so that that the small movement can still advance them. A very uncommon item from the category of "Mysterious Circulators" Height 42 inches
