C.1890, German, Winterhalder and Hofmeier, quarter strike bracket clock in the English style, 8-day. Condition: mahogany case in original finish with cast and gilded mountings in very nice condition with the gilding in above average state of preservation. There is an age crack in the back area of the dome top. Silvered chapter ring has some tarnish. Hands are original. Heavy plate brass movement with quarter hour chime on two gongs (ding dong) and hour strike on a single gong. Pendulum bob is original, but the rod that was brass has been replaced with wood. This model was their most popular in England. Ht. 21.25"
