C.1850, French, A. Duminil, Paris, 8-day time and bell strike silk thread suspension figural mantel clock in the form of a Roman figure in a tunic standing and playing a flute. Retailed by Henard, Paris. Condition: Bronze and gilt brass case in exceptional condition with most of gilding intact. Original porcelain dial signed Henard a' Paris, has small repairs at both winding holes. Movement is signed (Duminil). Black finish on figure is original. We have seen similar clocks sell in French Decorative Arts auction for $3000. Ht. 15.75"
