Condition: Ebonized mahogany case with gilt mountings in nice condition with original finish. There are age cracks and damage to the upper side molding; importantly, the front door is cracked in several places.. A small piece of the gilt roping on the right corner of the base is missing. Gilt dial is extra nice with fretted and engraved overlay mask, also subsidiary dials for F/S, and choice of Full Chime or Cambridge, 3rd option, Silent. Hands are original. Case houses an extra large brass chain-drive fusee movement chiming on a nest of bells, the hour struck on a large deep toned cathedral gong. Probably had brass bracket feet originally. Very heavy.
