C.1825, Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Conn, 8-Day Wooden Works, now fitted into an attractive mahogany case with full twisty columns on the trunk and hood, qtr columns on the base. Case probably originated in Ohio or western NY State.

Condition: the case has been nicely refinished and is with incredibly well figured crotch mahogany; top door re-made to fit the Hoadley dial. Retains old tin can weights that are a bit small for an 8-day. Although we had the clock running several days with these weights, you could contact Don Bruno for the recommended size. Movement and dial are proper Hoadley production; generally his dials were not signed, and the signature may have been added later. Note country scene at top, with Masonic symbols [compass and square] top center. Height 93 inches
