C.1898, German, Symphonion Hall Clock, No. 30St, in oak with Lenzkirch time and strike clock on top (two piece case), plus 35 original discs.
Condition: this clock needs special attention, since the music box was electrified around 1950. The bed plate and combs are sound, however the original spring motor is totally gone. You would need to sacrifice a model 30A table top to restore to spring power, and even then there would be adaptation. Or enjoy it as is; does need a new cord; conversion was 1st rate and runs reliably. The clock movement has not run in years, and needs a cleaning, appears complete; rear plate is signed with Lenzkirch logo. One strike rod needs replacing. Lock and key for lower case are intact; lock for clock door is removed and in a drawer in the base. Key for rear of music box access is absent. Minor trim moldings lacking here and there, and 2 rear finials lack top balls. Plays 13 5/8" sublime harmony discs, 1 rusty, 1 needs center repair. Would be $12,000 if complete and original.
