C.1973 [dated) Dana Blackwell, Salem Bridge, floor standing regulator with high standard movement,
(also signed Blackwell) having maintaining power, Graham's style dead beat escapement, a Geneva style winding stop behind the rear plate, plus a 2-jar mercurial compensating pendulum [mercury is not in the sale room, ask Tom for assistance], the jars with cut thumbprint pattern. Dana made the entire clock, including the Empire influence mahogany case [veneer and solid moldings over plywood], with some sub-letting. Finials, hinges crank and other case hardware were purchased. The glass jars seem to be old Howard stock. Dana made the pulley as a copy of the Howard style. The movement has a 3-pc glass surround to hold out dust. This clock ticks robustly and when we picked it up the weight was on the floor of the case. One of the more interesting clocks in the sale, certain to appeal to the person who wants to own a piece of Dana's handiwork. Height 87 inches
