C.1833, C and L. C. Ives, Bristol, Conn., 8-day time/strike triple decker shelf clock, this actual clock pictured in Roy Ehrhardts Book 4, page 50, carved columns and splat.

Condition: Refinished mahogany case in very clean condition with a couple of minor veneer chips on the base. Both tablets have been repainted in the proper style, lower one of Henry Longfellow's house is especially nice. Original painted dial is very nice with just a couple of small chips in the center area. The top side returns have been replaced. Case houses a large strap brass movement with pewter winding drums. About a fourth of label remains. Hands are of the proper type, but maybe later replacements; are as shown in the book (Ehrhardt guessed incorrectly at the maker as Birge and Ives) See the same movement pictured in Ken Robert's book on Ives, pg 97. Ht. 37.5"
