C.1895, French, Marti and Cie, 8-day time and bell strike, black marble clock, with malachite inserts retailed by D. H. Buell and Co., Hartford (on dial, with open escapement), and with 2 vial compensating pendulum. Condition: case in good condition with some small chips on the base and the curved top. Original porcelain dial is perfect and the hands are original; Dana may have touched up the Buell name on the dial. Left winding grommet fell out but is taped to the glass, with its retainer. Beveled front glass panel is perfect. Rear glass panel has a crack and with chips at the bottom left corner (these do not show from the front, and might not survive shipment, over-size 2-vial pendulum can not be shipped, pick up only). Movement is signed with Marti logo. Ht. 17.5"
