Condition: several items need serious attention: 1) the clock dial looks original, but the movement has been replaced with a small lever job that does not fit properly and is missing its minute hand. 2) when the dome broke, the scene in the background was damaged, 3) silk "ocean" around the ship is absent, 4) drive cords are dry /missing for the automation; the naked wooden hubs are visible. 5) 2-tune, pull wind music box is fully wound and not playing-(dirty), however the comb and cylinder look good. The opening for the movement is standard diameter and most any French mantle movement will substitute. Spring motor for automaton seems OK, turns when wound from front. Not a project for the meek, but with good potential if you have a big dome. If it was original, would be $4500. Height 23 inches
