painted wooden dial with Roman on chapter ring, outer minute ring marked with ticks, every 5 minutes bold raised gilt scrolled feathers in spandrels and center, 30-hour wooden time and strike weight driven movement with interior printed paper label reading Improved Clocks/Manufactured/By/E. & G.W. Bartholomew,/Bristol, Conn. with directions, with door for dial hinged on left, center mirrored tablet and lower door hinged on right with original painted tablet with 2 large country estates, one with Palladian architecture (left)and second with Greek Revival (right), mahogany and mahogany veneered case with full hollow columns from to of dial to base of middle tablet, middle tablet flanked by smaller full turned columns ebonized with gilt capitals and bases, stepped out base with 4 turned mahogany feet, crest with gilt carved spread winged phoenix on black sanded ground, flanked by mahogany plinths, 5" x 16.5" x 37.5" high. Condition report Crack in neck of bird, minor chips to veneer and on ebonized and gilt columns, some restoration to lower tablet, currently running. We do not guarantee working order of clocks.
