U.S.A. over tin with brass surround, Roman on chapter ring with outer minute ring marked with ticks, triangles every 5 minutes, with 8-day time and strike spring driven brass movement with alarm, pressed oak case in cleaned original finish with shoulder-length uniformed portrait of General Lee, flanked by stacked cannon balls with crossed U.S. flags on stippled ground, sides with field artillery, base with stars and anchors, gilt tablet with eagle and crossed U.S. flags, stacked arms and artillery with laurel wreath in center, with original cast patriotic pendulum, 5" x 15.5" x 24.25" high. Former Confederate Major-General Fitzhugh Lee was the consul-general of the United States to Havana, Cuba at the outbreak of the Spanish-American War. During the war he commanded the VII Army Corps.
