Litchfield, Conn. Cherry Tall Case Clock, ca 1815, with 30-hour time, strike and date wooden movement with painted wood dial with raised gold in spandrels and raised gold and polychrome flower spays in arch, marked A. Hopkins Litchfield with seconds dial above and date dial below center. Mounted in a cherry case with walnut secondary, flat topped bonnet with lambs tongue quarters, hinged door with diagonal reeding surround and cove moulded crest. Waist with paneled hinged door with circular window for viewing pendulum and framed engraving of General Zachary Taylor above, all original to case. Base with tombstone paneled front and paneled sides, ogee bracket feet, all in old, likely original varnish finish, 19.7" x 11"{ x 92.75" high. With original weights and pendulum. Condition report Missing molding on waist, just below bonnet, not currently running.
