mahogany with pine secondary wood. Arched top bonnet has scroll-cut fretwork and central turned finial. Waist with canted quarter columns with half turned drops at top and base. Bow front waist door has matching molding at top and base with half turned finials. Clock base has modified egg & dart type molding at sides and cove molding in front, and at foot and top. Polychrome painted arch top dial with "Jos: Dilger" and "Glasgow." Time and strike with calendar dial and second hand dial, ornate pierced brass hands, typical British bell strike movement. Painting at corners of face are of various ethnic peoples and in arched top of Scottish nobility welcoming Queen Mary from France. Iron pendulum with gilt floral scrollwork over black decoration. Nice old finish with rich color; 90" high.Condition:VG+, was working in house when picked up, very slight wear to base molding.
