mahogany and mahogany veneer, with pine secondary. Typical stout clock with flat top hood, ogee molding, and gothic-style sidelights. Thick waist with crotch mahogany veneer and crossbanding on door and ivory inlay on edges. Square base sits upon turned feet. Elaborate string inlay covers entire case and hood, and inlay imitates reeding on hood and trunk. Painted dial depicts shepherdess with lambs in arch, four seasons in the spandrels. Scottish 8-day brass movement with several labels indicating repair, cleaning, and importation from Scotland in 1963. Ca 1840s. 81.5" high x 19" wide x 9.5" deep.Ex Paul A.
