cherry and pine, signed Thomas & Hoadley Plymouth. Broken arch pediment with turned, vase-shaped finial. Hood has 2 free-standing fluted columns, arched top door with original glass. Waist has engaged, fluted quarter-columns and scratch-beaded door; base has shaped skirt and straight French feet. Original polychrome dial with foliate-decorated spandrels and an eagle-topped shield. Rising or setting sun and lush, green field in dial arch. Original 30-hour wooden movement with attached note indicating cleaning in 1983. 96" high x 18.75" wide x 10.25" deep. Clock was made during brief partnership between Seth Thomas and Silas Hoadley, which began July 1810 and ended December 1813.Ex Paul A.
