beautifully cast bronzed white metal figure of a peddler, with trunks and boxes of goods, being harassed by a small dog. His raised left arm holds a rope that is helping to stabilize his load, and in his right he carries a walking stick. Mounted atop a rectangular base with linenfold skirt, all in polychrome cold paint. Likely Austrian/German. The movement is brass, marked J.G. with 5-pointed star in oval, and is key wind with an alarm; the 2.25" dial is white enamel with black Roman numerals for hours and Arabic numerals on outer ring marking seconds. Never had a bezel, as it has an alarm set and shutoff lever-mounted with hands; 8.5" x 3.75" x 11.75" high. Has small, as-made hole in peddler's hat where a feather is mounted (feather, likely newer). Condition report Very very slight bruise on dial and slight wear to highpoints of finish. Currently working, but we do not guarantee the working order of clocks.
