C.1850, J.C. Brown, Bristol, CT. U.S., rosewood cottage clock with an 8-day time and strike movement.
Condition: Overall in excellent condition. The rosewood case has been refinished at some point but is in excellent condition, there is a small piece from the lower backboard that is missing but that is not noticeable from the front. The dial has its original paint and is signed JC Brown. Both glasses are original and the tablet depicts JC Brown with the words: "JC Brown, Manufacturer." The original movement is 8-day signed Brewster and Ingraham with ribbed frame. The label is complete but was applied too low in the case to read the manufacturer. This configuration (JC Brown signature, JC Brown tablet and a Brewster and Ingraham movement) has been sold by us before with the same label as this clock identifying Upson Brothers as the seller.
