C.1833 Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Conn, Miniature pillar and splat alarm timepiece with wood movement.
Anonymous (not verified)
23 October 2024
Condition: The mahogany case has an old/original finish and the columns and splat retain their original stencil decorations. The upper glass is original with its original putty and the lower mirror tablet is a replacement. The dial has been repainted. This case style is unusual and not typical for Silas Hoadley miniature timepieces. There never were any feet and the column tops have original end caps instead of pineapple finials. The unusual door catch is original. The label is xlnt and indicates that it was "case and sold by L. Smith" which may account for the case variation. Height 23 inches
