C.1841, Rare Brewster and Ingrahams, Detached Fusee Beehive, 8-day time and repeating rack strike [Kirk's patent] in a mahogany veneered case and with old Fenn tablet, and wooden dial. Note this clock was made at a time when Joseph S. Ives (Nephew of THE Joseph Ives) was working with Brewster and he secured a patent for the use of brass as a spring in clocks. We sold the sister to this clock, lot 385 in May of 2004, that had a full Joseph S. Ives label. That clock [385] crossed the block at $6100. Condition: although the case has been refinished, the veneer is excellent and the clock is otherwise in very good original condition, with original dial with small round glass center [replaced]..put there so the owner could show off his "Brass" movement clock with rack striking.
