C.1825, (dated label) Mark Leavenworth and Son, Waterbury, Conn: Pillar and scroll shelf clock with 30-hr time and strike wood movement. Condition: Excellent overall condition with an outstanding dial that has unusual gold Arabic numerals with a black outline, both glasses are original with lower tablet in excellent condition. The label is xlnt. The two scrolls are intact and have never been broken or repaired, the feet and skirt are in excellent condition with original glue blocks. The three finials are original/period. Case refinished. This is about as nice a pillar and scroll clock that one could hope to find. Postage rates shown for year 1825, a letter traveling over 400 miles paid 25 cents, which would convert to over $20 today. Height 31 inches
