C.1825, Riley Whiting, Winchester, Conn, 1-day tall clock, a country pine with some doweled joints.

23 October 2024
Condition: the movement has been re-strung and is in running order (tape over barrels to hold cord in place). This movement and dial started life together, but probably not with this case, the door of which is a bit tall and too narrow. The hood is missing some type of arched splat or fret and center chimney. There are some nicks and gouges along the vertical edges of the case. The case appears to have an old finish, but has been recently varnished over. A dial mask on the hood would improve the appearance. Generally bright and good+ dial. Ht 81"
