Condition: the mahogany case retains old finish, made with a broken arch hood, bracket feet and a lower door with applied fluted pilasters. Two lead weights are later, minute hand replaced (cut to match and not obvious), one lower hood molding replaced, top door (with tulips) replaced in 1955, other hood restorations. Provenance: Sheldon Hoch purchased this clock at Bourne's Anthony Sposato Sale No. 1, Hyannis, lot 72, Oct 29, '85, and it sold in our Nov 2008 sale, lot 201. No additional work was done on the clock after Sheldon's purchase in 1985. This very clock also appears in The American Clock, page 107, fig 224, and again in Horology Americana, page 34.
