Condition: the detent movement is in excellent original condition, clean and running. Spotted plates intact. Has original gold hands and well engraved dial. The tub and dial plate bear a small number 1260. The Bond family specialized in chronometers and watches. The firm operated at 26 Congress St through 1852, 17 Congress through 1869, 97 Water St through 1877, 148 State St through 1904. Until 1848 as Wm. Bond and Son [singular], then Sons, and after 1868 back to Son. Lengthy articles can be found on the family. Running. Width of box = 7", ht of box 8"
