Austrian, Walnut cartel clock, silk thread suspension, signed Johann Kriwsky, with a brass cut out chapter ring over a wooden dial plate, large 8-day movement, gong strike, spring. The walnut case with deeply carved 3/4 columns and with finely detailed lions above. C.1875. the bottom bracket has a wide, dry, vertical split; finials are all original, however top center trim appears to be adapted from another piece. The dial numerals are distressed, and the broken bits are in a bag. Pend appears original. The center hand shaft has its tip broken off at the hole; there is enough material to re-drill; it will require annealing before drilling. Minute hand is held on by washer only for foto. Slide mount movement is original to case. Height 37 inches
