English, 8-day, painted dial tall clock, 2- weight, in a pine case stained a maple color, C.1840 this is a primitive case that does not appear to have ever had veneer; it is a bit loose and needs some additional glue blocks. The back board for the rear of the plinth is absent. The dial does not fit the mask well (see dark spots rt and lt of arch) because the movement is not original to the case (door opening is adequate if the mask is changed). It will need a thicker seat board if you intend to use this movement. movement dirty, in need of service, but will perform with hand pressure. Has calendar aperture and original hands intact. Dial measures: 11.5" x 16.5" Height 84 inches
