German, Mathias Bauerle, St. Georgen, Berlin style, FREE SWINGER wall clock in a dark fumed oak case with heavy barley twist columns on the door, and cast/gilt sunburst pendulum, QUARTER strike on 2 gongs, C.1890 overall very good to excellent original condition, with original finish. Silvered dial is still good. Bauerle was well known for his solid plate, cut pinion movement with Graham 'scape; rear plate with his fancy "MB-Peerless" logo. The gong base similarly signed "Peerless". There are a couple of nicks and scrapes commensurate with the age of the clock; case never had finials.
