French, Deniere, Paris, Circa 1890, 8-day time/strike red marble and glass "mantel regulator" clock, with open escapement on the dial, and Ellicott style compensating pendulum. red marble section that makes up the top of the case is cracked and re-glued with a frontal chip at the repaired area. The marble base has some roughness on the edges. Beveled glass panels are perfect. Original porcelain dial has a fine hairline at about 6 o'clock; otherwise perfect. Hands are original. Movement is signed with the same name as on the dial. Pendulum probably had some type of decorative insert that is now missing. Ht 14.5"
