English, single train, chain fusee dial clock, C.1870, in a round top, short drop wall case of mahogany, 8-day with carved accents and a bottom door to access the pendulum, retailed by "Brown" of Weymouth. Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in an old finish with a couple of veneer chips and a crack near the pendulum aperture from shrinkage of the base wood. Original painted dial is very clean with just a little imperfection near 5 o'clock. Hands are original. Original pendulum intact. Well made chain drive movement, has been re-bushed. Ht 23"
