it appears this clock was grained over the walnut originally, as there are remains of rosewood graining. The clock was refinished and restored in 1964, a note to attest glued inside the case. An additional 19th century note indicates the clock hung in the office of the pres. of the B and O Railway. Note the old iron weight is a replacement from something else, but certainly operates the clock. Pulley is not original. Tie down tab for pendulum is lacking. The original paper over zinc dial is faded and has perimeter losses around the attaching holes and latch areas. Signature on dial is weak but legible. Movement is signed. Throat glass is orig; bottom glass is replaced. Clock runs OK. Ht 43.5"
