Aaron Dodd Crane, for the Year Clock Co., New York, C.1849, "THREE BALL 8-DAY" bevel front mantle clock, with lift off lid for pulley access, 2-weight. other than a minor crack to the upper glass in the lower right corner, this is in overall excellent original condition, with nice cut glass tablet, paper and glass dial, xlnt label, original weights, hands and pendulum. Someone along the line inlet a small portion of the back-board to allow the rotating pendulum to clear; a match under the edge of the clock would have been easier. Information on this model and Crane's other clocks can be found in Shelley's 1987 supplement to the NAWCC bulletin Note earlier versions of this model had the top dust cover hinged, while this one has 4 large pins to save cost.
