Ansonia Clock Co., New York, C.1880, "MELODY and MOTION" double statue figural clock [rare model], with open escapement on porcelain dial, gong striking, 8-day original finish on the statues is worn to base metal in several places; iron base has enamel losses and rust on those spots.. Trim for violinists hat [top] needs threaded portion shortened. Violin is held under his chin with a screw that is missing; we used tape for foto. Bow is held in his right hand with a set screw that is still present. Rear dust cover is a new piece of flat brass cut to fit, and the hinge is not now attached....is in bag. In spite of these shortcomings, this clock is in generally good original condition and these relatively minor items can be dealt with easily. Ly item No. 487, price guide = $2250. Ht 20.5"
